Day 3 of My 100 Day Painting Challenge

One of my favorite artists is Richard Mayhew, an artist who started off drawing in pencil black and white sketches of trees. Early in his career he never used color. But an art residency in Europe changed his perspective on using color and it became his hallmark. His work is haunting and striking and the vibrant colors he uses in unexpected ways in his landscapes are what I love.
